ChapterBuilder - Lead Bulk Importer Errors - what do they mean?

Are you attempting to import a spreadsheet of leads to your ChapterBuilder account and getting a list of errors? This article will help you understand the errors you are receiving and how to remedy them. 

Error #1: "Last/First Name is Required" - This means you do not have information listed for that field; it's blank. You are required to have both a First and a Last Name for each lead on your spreadsheet. These are the only two required fields for each lead.

How to fix it: Just add the first name or last name for those leads that are missing it. You will notice the row listed on the error message that corresponds to your spreadsheet. 

Pro Tip: Is this error listed for every lead on your spreadsheet but you have first names and last names? Check your header. Make sure it's not "firstname" or "lastname" as those are not accepted formats. Ideally, the header is "first name" or "last name" but other formats are accepted like "first_name" and "Last-Name."

Error #2: "Not a valid email" - This means that the email entered for a lead is not valid. This is usually because the .com is missing or something like that.  

How to fix it: Just update the email to meet the normal email format; chapterbuildersupport@phiredup.com

Pro Tip: Use the row number listed to find the invalid email faster. You will notice the error message says "Row 4: Not a valid email." 

Error #3: "Not a valid phone number" - This means you do not have a valid phone number listed for that lead. This usually happens when you put in a fake number like "000-000-0000." ChapterBuilder knows it's not real and will not allow it to be uploaded. 

How to fix it: Just add a valid phone number or no number at all. Phone numbers are not required so do not feel like you need to make one up.

International Numbers - If you have international numbers in your spreadsheet, make sure they are formatted correctly. In most instances, they will need a + sign in front of the number.
